JULIA B. SILBERMANN (*1977)

is a visual artist based near Mainz, Germany. She creates paper objects and two-dimensional works – often with written elements – to explore the growing differences between traditional and modern forms of recording shared legacy, cultural heritage, knowledge and personal lives.

Her work has been shown at museums, galleries and institutions in the USA, Germany and Poland.
In 2015, she was awarded the Newberry Purchase Prize in Chicago for her manuscript book
“Dante’s Prayer”. In 2021 Julia Silbermann designed the Golden Book of the City of Bad Kreuznach.
